Our Naturopaths are located in South Melbourne and are trained in Functional Medicine, a comprehensive, investigative model of healthcare to solve your chronic health issues for good. Our health care team specialise in chronic health conditions like digestive conditions, skin conditions, women’s health conditions, autoimmunity, heart conditions as well as allergies, intolerances and sensitivities.
Functional Medicine Naturopathy South Melbourne has a primary focus on resolving patient health concerns on the most foundational level possible. The Functional Medicine approach works well for patients who want to understand what is going on with their health, and get empowered to make a real difference for themselves.
In our award-winning program you will work alongside a practitioner and health coach to create long lasting health results. This is what the 6-month program includes:
To begin the program, your Functional Medicine Naturopath will spend 4-hours with you getting a deeper understanding of your health and family history.
This thorough investigation will include identifying the root cause and possible triggers that led to your health condition such as environmental factors, allergens, poor nutrition, lifestyle factors, genetics and more.
Functional Medicine is not a quick fix and it will take time and commitment to reach your health goals.
For this reason you will have as much access to your practitioner as you need over the 6-months, and your health coach will support you to stay motivated and on track with your treatment plan.
Identifying specific imbalances will help your practitioner develop a highly personalised treatment plan.
We use first-class pathology labs to test for a range of possible triggers and pin-point exactly where the imbalances are.

It takes time to understand what is happening in your body and why you are experiencing various symptoms. This is why your initial consultation is for four hours. In the first part of your consult, your functional medicine naturopath will play detective. They will ask you and your family’s health history, your genetics, your lifestyle and any significant events throughout your life that may be contributing to your health concerns. This deeply investigative session is crucial to identify the root cause(s) of your health condition.
In the second part of the session, your naturopath will begin to pull the pieces of your health puzzle together, chat about your treatment plan and next steps (which may include functional testing), and answer any questions you may have. Towards the end of your appointment, you and your naturopath will be joined by your health coach to discuss your health goals, your plan and how they will support you with that as well as any immediate steps once you’ve finished your consult.
Our functional medicine trained naturopaths take a systematic and science-based approach to investigating and addressing the root causes of chronic health conditions.
Functional medicine recognises the interactions between the body and diet, lifestyle and environment, and how these factors contribute to your health. Using this truly personalised and holistic approach, our naturopaths are able to combine their clinical expertise with the latest available evidence and your health story to create a plan that’s personalised to you.
Studies show that improving your health alongside a naturopath and a health coach has the best results. At Melbourne Functional Medicine, you will be partnered with a health coach for 6 months so you have the greatest chance of meeting your health goals. It’s healthcare reimagined. And it works.
