Principal Functional Medicine Practitioner
Jabe holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) and a Master in Science, Human Nutrition, and Functional Medicine. His special areas of interest are in treating complex conditions of the gut, fatigue and adrenal conditions, and health optimisation.
Jabe practices functional medicine: the modern evolution of natural health care.
‘By combining the wisdom of naturopathic tradition, and modern scientific evidence-based medicine, precise and individualised strategies can be formulated to resolve all health challenges, using well-considered lifestyle modification and nutritional and herbal interventions.’
While taking the time to listen to, and understand his patients, Jabe also takes full advantage of the latest in functional and diagnostic laboratory testing to build a comprehensive picture of his patient’s health. He gets effective results by addressing health concerns at the root-cause level, and ensuring his patients understand how it all fits together, by laying out the options and paths to healing.
Jabe believes that diet and lifestyle are the keys to wellness. He is passionate about helping his patients to achieve their optimal health potential, by empowering them with the tools and information to care for and maintain their own health.
Evidence based medicine is a priority for Jabe; he is highly aware of potential interactions between pharmaceutical medicines and herbal medicine/nutrients, and will ensure suitable options are prescribed. He works collaboratively with other health specialists to develop an integrative wellness plan centred around the needs and goals of the patient.
Jabe works closely with sport’s teams and athletes to help them achieve optimum performance. He enjoys taking on speaking engagements and delivering health presentations for groups inclusive of Corporates, Gyms, Sports Teams and Community Groups.
Jabe hosts two podcasts:
Vitality Hackers – a podcast to deliver health advice to those who are seeking to optimise their health
Mastering Nutrition and Functional Medicine – a podcast to further the education of health professionals.
